When you think of transitions, what comes to mind?
A bridge you started crossing—maybe you stay on it, meet a friend, or look at another bridge down the river. Or do you see a tunnel, dark and gloomy, hoping for familiar light at the end? Maybe it's a hole you fall into, with chairs and books passing by. Or sitting calmly, letting the world go by so you can rejoin it anew.
No matter what transitions mean to you, they are yours to experience. Your agency is something to hone but also to keep lightly.
I've had times when my world looked like tunnels, forests, whirlpools, and St. Petersburg bridges waiting to close at 3 am. Do I jump from one to another? Go in order? Does this system have snakes and ladders inside? Yes and yes.
So I kept falling, and brewing, and composting, and walking, and sitting in silence. It would be so boring otherwise.
That is why I love working with people in transitions, in disorientation, in seeming helplessness.
This is where nothing is possible, and nothing is impossible at the same time, for both of us. That's where the real magic happens, and a new reality can be construed.

What I Use in My Practice
Psychology: Personal Construct Theory, Gestalt, and Organisational psychology provide me with a depth of understanding of our human nature, while giving me practical tools for deep transformations

Personal Construct Theory
Developed by George Kelly in the mid-50s of the 20th century, the theory assumes that every day we observe our reality, construe our understanding of it, test it and confirm or amend our constructs for future use. I love it as this means we all have agency to change our understanding of the world and expand our perspective through experimentation.
Through specific techniques, we can clarify the constructs you build to make sense of the world, how well they serve you and what systemic implications they create.
Futures & Foresight
I've been diving into future studies (UNESCO, Association of Professional Futurists) and foresight over the past few years to understand how our VUCA world challenges us in designing better worlds for humanity, but also on an individual level. Participating in futurist communities, I learnt to utilise scenario building in coaching conversations to develop career and personal roadmaps.
Lego Serious Play & other media
The Lego Group method is utilised in coaching to deepen meaning and externalise verbal and non-verbal concepts. I love it for the myriad of possibilities one can express their story, situation, or just a feeling, and how clearly one can see the opportunities for shifts and decisions.
In conversations, I also use cultural references from the worlds of art, gaming and pop culture, building on my background in the arts and my work for major entertainment franchises.
AI & Emerging Tech
I'm deeply concerned by the developments in AI and its impact on humanity and our planet. At the same time I use AI as a positive thinking partner in professional and personal conversations. I'm actively following how AI impacts coaching for both the coach and the coachee, to be able to assist my clients in the safest and most meaningful way. Featured in Fast Company magazine, analyzed the state of AI coaching in LinkedIn publications, participated in AI Coaching research, I stay attuned to the thought leadership in this space and adapt my approach as the industry develops.
